UCAA Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements
Current UConn Students
All current*, University of Connecticut undergraduates (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors) who will be a full-time** students in the 2008 - 2009 academic year. This includes students from all UConn campuses.
* High school seniors are not considered current students and are not eligible for this scholarship.
**Full time as defined by the University of Connecticut is an undergraduate student registered for at least 12 semester hours and a graduate student registered for at least 6 semester hours.
UConn Seniors
You must be applying (or have been accepted) for full-time, first year graduate studies at UConn for the 2008-2009 academic year. If you have not received notification of your admission status to UConn graduate school, you are still encouraged to apply.
The evaluation of scholarship applicants
is based on the following:
- Responses to short essay question
- One current letter of recommendation
- Academic performance (students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher to apply)
- Financial need
Types of Scholarships
General Scholarships
No additional specified criteria. All applicants who meet
the minimum criteria will be considered for these awards.
Legacy Scholarships
In addition to the eligibility requirements listed above, the applicant’s parent,
grandparent or a sibling must be a UConn alum and a current dues paying member of the UConn Alumni Association. (Refer to question #10 on the application)

The information provided to the University of Connecticut Alumni Association in connection with this Scholarship Application form (including attachments, if any) is confidential and is intended only to assist the Alumni Association in evaluating applicants for the purpose of receiving scholarships. Any review, use, disclosure, distribution or copying of this application by unauthorized persons is prohibited. If you have any concerns regarding the confidentiality or use of your information, please notify the Alumni Association immediately.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE
RECIPIENTS MUST ATTEND THE SCHOLARSHIP RECEPTION AT A STORRS CAMPUS LOCATION IN OCTOBER 2008 (Date & Time TBA) TO RECEIVE THE SCHOLARSHIP. ATTENDANCE AT THE CEREMONY IS CONSIDERED FORMAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP. IF THE RECIPIENT DOES NOT ATTEND THE CEREMONY, THE SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE FORFEITED. |
