Huskies at the Olympics (UConnHuskies.com)
UConn is represented by six individuals at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, which runs from August 8-24 in Beijing, China. Current and former Huskies are representing basketball, soccer, and track and field for the United States, Russia, New Zealand, Canada, and Haiti. Read More
Grad students to lead national symposium on 'green' chemistry (UConn Advance)
Seven chemistry graduate students will direct an all-day symposium on “Transitioning into Green Chemistry” at the American Chemical Society national meeting, which is expected to attract 14,000 top professionals from academia and the chemical industry. Read More
New class both bigger and better (Daily Campus)
Following a large graduating class and a struggling American economy, UConn expects to see an increase in the number of students enrolling for the upcoming fall semester, especially high achieving students. These incoming students raised the university's average SAT score by nine points. Read More
UConn will discontinue the use of cafeteria trays (Hartford Courant)
The cafeteria tray, as much a mainstay of college dining halls as chocolate chip cookies and soda machines, will disappear this fall at the University of Connecticut. Like many colleges, UConn is taking the step to be more eco-friendly and save money in the face of spiking food prices. Read More

Governor M. Jodi Rell today announced that eight start-up companies enrolled in UConn's Technology Incubation Program have received a financial boost through the Connecticut Small Business Incubator Program. Read More

On June 22, UConn alum William Carroll celebrated his 90th birthday with 30 cheering family members (and the whole restaurant, in fact). Bill is one of UConn’s most loyal and enthusiastic fans. He is from our generation of alumni whose educations were interrupted by World War II, and to this day we owe them our gratitude and our thanks for their service. Read More
