UConn’s Technology Incubation Program PDF Print E-mail

Husk-E-News, June 2008

UConn’s Technology Incubation Program is glad to welcome three new technology startups to its Farmington and Storrs incubators. Joining in Farmington are Revegen, a research-based pharmaceutical company that identifies new therapeutically active molecules through novel, proprietary technology improving the efficiency of the drug discovery process, and Arbor Fuel, a company that is using proprietary microbial cell lines to support cost-competitive production of bio-mass based butanol. In Storrs, Escientia, a contract research organization will collaborate with R&D departments of biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies to discover and develop new medicines. The company will also engage in its own new drug discovery agenda to treat tropical diseases such as malaria. Each firm has a unique capacity to support the goals of the university through collaboration with students and faculty. In addition they are a source of growth for Connecticut’s economy.
