What is the Husky Alumni Network?
The Husky Alumni Network is the online
alumni community for University of Connecticut students and alumni,
provided by the UConn Alumni Association.

Do I have to be a member of the Alumni Association to take advantage of the Husky Alumni Network?
No, you do not have to be a member of the
Alumni Association to register and use the Husky Alumni Network.
However, if you would like to become a member of the UConn Alumni
Association and take advantage of numerous Alumni Association member
benefits and to give your support for the services we provide,
including the Husky Alumni Network, scholarships/awards, and alumni
events, please visit UConnAlumni.com/membership.

Is there a fee for registering or using the Husky Alumni Network?
No, there is no fee for registering or using
the Husky Alumni Network. The Husky Alumni Network is a free service
offered by the UConn Alumni Association for UConn alumni and students.

Is the Husky Alumni Network just for alumni?
The Husky Alumni Network connects alumni
with alumni, and alumni with students. Incoming freshmen will be able
to access the Career Network of the Husky Alumni Network. Areas of the
Husky Alumni Network are open to students as well as alumni.

What is the difference between the Husky Alumni Network and the School of Business’s Online Alumni Community?
The School of Business has a smart-site,
their Online Alumni Community, which ties in to the Husky Alumni
Network. This point of entry into the Husky Alumni Network is
customized for School of Business alumni, but all data is shared
between the two. This means that your log-in information, personal
data, and community features (e.g. Online Directory, Career Services,
etc.) are consistent between the two sites.

Is the Husky Alumni Network secure?
Yes, we have taken steps to secure the kind
of information that is viewable and who can view it. Only UConn alums,
students, and other selected UConn-affiliated parties (e.g. selected
staff members, school and college representatives, etc.) can access the
Husky Alumni Network. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors only have
access to the Career Network. Because the Husky Alumni Network is an
opt-in system, we have selected only general fields for personal
identification to include in the Online Directory. You may select to
opt-out or opt-in to customize your level of information privacy. All
information is sent through secure servers.

How do I log out?
To log out, simply close your browser. Your
information will be closed out, and you will be asked to log-in again
the next time you come to our site. We are currently working on
including a log-out button to the site.

How do I search for alumni in my current or desired field using the Husky Alumni Network?
There are two ways to search the HAN for alumni in a specific field - by using the Career Netoork and by using the Online Directory.
To search the Career Network:
- Sign in to HAN
- Select "Career Services" from the menu at the left
- Select "Career Network"
- Select "Search Career Network for Alumni"
- Search "job title" keywords, or leave all fields blank to see all active profiles
- Do not search "job descriptions" because few people have them
- Members of the Career Network are interested in making connections and helping fellow alumni; the UCAA encourages you to contact them
To search the Online Directoy
- Select "Online Directory" from the menu at the left
- Select "Global Search"
- Search keyword for your desired career field
- A list of alumni with your search keyword in their profile will appear
- Hold the cursor over a result and it will show the name, location, and employer of the alum
- Select each listing individually to view the alum's profile. You may contact them via email if their profile provides a link to do so. Some alumni may not wish to be contacted; if there is no contact information listed then return to the search results and select another profile.

How do I search for a job on the Husky Alumni Network?
- Select "Career Network"
- Select "Job Postings"
- Select "Search Job Postings"
- Select "Search Career Network for Alumni"
- This search enables you to look for jobs from three sources: "UConn Alumni Association Online Community Members," "Other Institutions in the Network," and "My Postings Only." Be sure to run two searches, first selecting UCAA Online Community Members and then selecting Other Institutions. The "Other Institutions" selection usually has more jobs posted.
- Leave all fields blank to see all job postings, but remember that doing so will only show you jobs listed within the source you selected (either "UConn Alumni Association Online Community" or "Other Institutions in the Network") - you will still have to run a second search using the source you did not originally search under.
- Search using the "keywords" field if you have a specific job in mind.
- If you get no results with your keyword search, try to make your keword more general, e.g. "publish" instead of "publishing" or remove all keywords and browse all listings.
