Bridgette received her M.A. Degree in 2005 and expects to receive her Sixth Year Professional Diploma of Advanced Studies in May, 2008, from the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. She began her teaching career in the Windham Public Schools as a Special Education teacher in 1996. Since 2005 she has served as the Instructional Consultant at Windham Center School. She has presented literacy workshops at the Teachers for a New Era Conference in 2006 and 2007 and took part in the Partners for Literacy Symposium for Educational Leaders in 2006
Bridgette is recognized as an effective leader, innovator and role model by those who have taught with her. She is known as a master teacher who inspires, nurtures and challenges her students and colleagues. In 2001 she was recognized as the Windham Public School’s Teacher of the Year. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa International and Pi Lambda Theta. She has also been active in her community, serving as the local coordinator for Special Olympics and Unified Sports, a crisis counselor for the Women’s Center of Southeastern Connecticut and Secretary of her Pine Grove Neighborhood Association.
