Women’s Leadership Council
The University of Connecticut Women’s Leadership Council was created to enhance the role of women in the life of the University and to recognize the achievements of outstanding alumnae and to utilize their talents in support of priority programs. The goals of the Women's Leadership Council are:
- To help current women students have a successful academic experience at UConn. This includes promoting an individual’s professional, intellectual and social development.
- To create a systematic networking and mentoring program for current students, to assist recent graduates as they seek employment opportunities and to support other women as they transition back into the workplace.
- To increase the number and quality of women in leadership in all areas of university life by advocating the hiring, training and advancement of outstanding women faculty, staff and administrators.
- To encourage and increase the financial and volunteer involvement by alumnae.
- To support and encourage the personal and professional growth of Council members.
- To help redefine achievement and/or success by promoting non-traditional roles and enterprises.
- To educate and incorporate male university leadership and other male colleagues into the mission of the Women’s Leadership Council.
