Roll of Honor website launched
The UConn Alumni Association announces the launch of the Roll of Honor website, which memorializes those alumni who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
It is among the first websites of its kind in New England and one of only a few nationwide. The purpose of this website is to chronicle the Ultimate Sacrifice Memorial and the Roll of Honor, to share them with a wider audience, to let friends and families know that their loved ones are not forgotten, and to provide an opportunity to nominate those alumni who may be missing from the roll.

Neag School of Education professor receives the Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize
McGraw-Hill recently announced that Dr. Joseph S. Renzulli (Distinguished Professor of Educational Psychology, Neag School of Education, and co-founder of Renzulli Learning, a UConn R&D company that develops educational software) is a winner of the Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize. This prize in Education annually recognizes outstanding individuals who have dedicated themselves to improving education in this country and whose accomplishments are making a difference today. UConn start up Renzulli Learning reported sales of more than $6 million in 2008. The company's educational software has been used by more than 400,000 students across the United States. Read More
Husky Reach kicks off another successful year
Husky Reach, the community service program of the UConn Division of Athletics, kicked off the 2009-2010 school year in September at Verplanck Elementary School in Manchester. This program
is funded by a gift to the University Capital Campaign. Read More

Election of Board members will take place in the spring edition of UConn MemberNews, mailed to all active Alumni Association members in April 2010. All candidates on the ballot will be notified of the election results at the end of May.

Brigadier General Wilma L. Vaught will address the more than 230 years of service to the nation of America's military women. Her remarks will chronicle the steadfast commitment of the nearly 2.5 million women who have served since the American Revolution and uncover an extraordinary story of patriotism that has been lost to history. She served in the United States Air Force for over 28 years, retiring in 1985 as one of the most highly decorated women in U.S. history.

Connecticut Science Museum, special after hours event for UConn alumni

Liquid Lounge is a new "geek-chic" after work networking party beginning this month at the Connecticut Science Center! Experience LIVE science, science related drink specials and cash bar, LIVE music, select movie showings, cafe specials and more. The museum is offering UCAA members entrance to this event for $5, non-members are $10.

Annual UConn Club Auction supports student scholarships
The UConn Club annual auction will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 in the Exhibition Center at the XL Center in Hartford. Auction hours are 9:30 am - 11:30 am prior to the Men's basketball game versus Marquette. Admission to the Auction is free and you do not need a game ticket to attend! Hundreds of silent auction items and selected live auction items including a new car from Toyota will be available. All proceeds from the Auction benefit The UConn Club General Athletic Scholarship Fund.
