Calling all UConn graduates:
Vote for your Alumni Trustee

All graduates of the University of Connecticut have the right to vote for their Alumni Trustee representative to the University of Connecticut Board of Trustees.

This year, two candidates have been nominated for the UConn Alumni Trustee position: Francis X. Archambault and David P. Marks.

The candidate who receives the most votes will be elected as Alumni Trustee representative for a four-year term. Please click on each person's name above and get to know each of this year's candidates!

How do I vote? Watch your mailbox!

Your alumni voice matters to the University! Official ballots have been mailed to all UConn graduates with a valid postal address. Please take a moment to read through your ballot, cast your vote, sign it and return it to us no later than Friday, Aug. 14, 2009. All graduates of the University of Connecticut are eligible to vote.

Professor receives Nursing Association's highest honor

University of Connecticut Distinguished Professor Cheryl Tatano Beck has received the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) 2009 Distinguished Professional Service Award for her "unparalleled dedication to improving the health of women and infants" around the world. Actuarial Research Center named with $1M gift

A center for research in actuarial science, which provides opportunities for students and faculty to work closely with financial services companies in the Hartford area to research issues in actuarial science and risk management, has been renamed thanks to a $1 million gift. Read more

Social work professor honored

Lirio K. Negroni, an associate professor at the University of Connecticut's School of Social Work, has been named the 2009 Educator of the Year by the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. Read more

2009 Women's Achievement Awards

Twenty University of Connecticut students have been recognized for their academic achievements as recipients of this year's Outstanding Senior Women Academic Achievement Awards and the 100 Years of Women Scholarship. Read more

Season tickets for football are now on sale

It's almost time for kickoff! Season ticket plans for all six home games are now available for the 2009 UConn football season. Mini season ticket plans (three games) go on sale July 29, while single-game tickets will go on sale Aug. 12. The first home game is Sept. 12 against UNC! Read more

All yearbooks from 1915-89 now available online

In collaboration with the Nutmeg staff and the Division of Student Affairs, the UConn Libraries announces the availability of the 1915-1989 electronic Nutmeg. Anyone can access individual issues from the Archives & Special Collections Web site. Read more

Celebrate with fellow UConn alumni during weeklong Homecoming activities. On Saturday, Oct. 17, meet up with fellow alumni and friends at Rentschler Field in East Hartford for the Alumni Association's Spirit Village and Tailgate BBQ. Then stay and watch the Huskies take on Louisville in the annual Homecoming football game! Kickoff is at noon. Read more

Did You Know?

Hundreds partake in Calhoun Charity Bike Ride

Hundreds of cyclists from across the Northeast joined Coach Jim Calhoun on June 13 in the 2009 NBC 30 - Jim Calhoun Cancer Challenge Ride. It is expected another $250,000 will be raised in 2009 in the fight against cancer. This year's event involved bike rides of 10, 25 and 50 miles, with a start and finish in Simsbury, Conn.
