Husk-E-News, September 2008The Tech-Knowledge Portal, the University of Connecticut’s program designed to enhance industry relationships, technology access and economic development, was pleased to receive a second three year funding offer from the US Economic Development Administration (EDA). EDA will support the program as an EDA University Center with more than $300,000 over three years. To demonstrate the university’s commitment to economic development and technology commercialization, UCONN will provide a dollar for dollar match. The Tech-Knowledge Portal, was founded in October 2005 with the mission of developing and operating a market driven program of technical assistance in response to requests by entrepreneurs, industry, and economic developers in the state. “This new funding reaffirms the value of the program to EDA and Connecticut’s technology based industry,” according to Bruce Carlson, Managing Director of the Office of Technology Commercialization.
