Welcome Home Class of 1960

Reaching our 50 year college reunion is a huge milestone! This calls for a landmark gift commemoration in honor of the Class of 1960. Our class is supporting two initiatives that support UConn students: The 50th Reunion Alumni Scholarship Fund and the Class of 1960 Video Center.

The 50th Reunion Alumni Scholarship Fund

The 50th Reunion Alumni Scholarship Fund is the first scholarship of its kind to provide monetary support to all categories of UConn students. Keeping the criteria general enables the university to assist undergraduate, graduate, and prospective students on both a need or merit basis. It also allows UConn the option to provide orientation or study abroad scholarships. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for this scholarship fund. All leadership-level giving will be recognized with donor names printed in the Alumni Association's scholarship ceremony program.

2009 Scholarship Recipient

This scholarship enabled me to cover the tuition without asking my mom to take out a loan. I am truly thankful because I know as much as my mom would love to pay for my college education she is not able to. This plays a big role in my efforts toward succeeding. I am not only trying to succeed for myself, but also for my family and all of those who believe in me. I'm still pursuing my dream of becoming a pediatrician and will not stop until my goal is achieved.

The Class of 1960 Video Center

The Class of 1960 Video Center funds will be used to revitalize a viewing center in the Homer Babbidge Library, offering improved space for individual students and small groups to gather and view video materials in the latest technology format.

Reaching this significant anniversary is cause for celebration. While it is not possible for everyone to return for the reunion, it is possible and important for everyone to play a role in marking our legacy and time at UConn. Together we can ensure that the UConn Alumni Association has the financial flexibility to provide scholarships to a wide variety of students and that the Library is prepared for future generations.
